Bimini for Wakeboard tower

Bimini for Wakeboard tower

Almost forgot to share the wakeboard tower bimini I found today. Its gotta be the cheapest one I have ever seen and its made by a good company. I plan on purchasing one when money allows. I have seen others which are nicer, but they are nowhere near the price of this one shich is about $275.00 depending on your size. Here is the link

The new MT2 from monster tower is pretty nice. Good lines and looks better on late model boats then the original MT. I know you can find cheaper towers then the monster tower. However, I really think they are worth the money. I am a very very satisfied customer.

Thats the one I am getting...the bonus as well is now many biminis will fit under it as well with the 8" increased height. The bimini for my '08 sea ray will work fine now. So money save din having to get a new bimini, or having to do customizations to my existing one.

3 more weeks until I install!!! Ill take some pics...

Re: Need Advice PLEASE - Wakeboard Tower ??

I understand there are some monster tower fans here, but I am gonna post two pics here, one of the aerial tower I installed and one of the exact same boat with a monster tower (MT1) taken from their site. I do have to say the MT2 has improved upon the MT1. (sorry about quality I had to compress the file to meet site requirements.

Note: the image on the left filename-tower 8 is the Aerial tower, The image on the right filename - Four Winns is the Monster MT1.

Re: Need Advice PLEASE - Wakeboard Tower ??

As you can see, people are very passionate about their towers. We too are doing some great research about buying the right tower for our boat, as well as saving up since money is a little tight right now, but for the moment, we got a insanity pylon which was perfect for me and the kids (nieces, nephews, daughter) because i didnt have to drill any holes and it went up in a snap. i also really like the padding since the kids are always finding the pylon when the big waves come by, lol. its a perfect temporary to long term solution and i would recommend i to anyone that asks. i picked it up from insanitypylons.com for about $400 and had it delivered over the weekend and had it set up in about five minutes for the first time. they now have a newer model called the ipylon for around $295 on sale with a lifetime warranty.

as you can see there are many options to choose from as posted in response to your question. if youre looking for a quick fix while you are still looking for your ideal tower, this is my recommendation. you can pm me if you have questions.

oh, will you be parking you boat in the garage? is it going to be necessary to remove or collapse your tower when you store your boat?

my tower

my tower

Well, after i did a bunch of reading last sumer I decided to make my own.my 1st trip out with it was saturday and I must say it was an incredible difference. Took me about a weeks worth of fabrication and welding after getting off of work but now its finished. I was in the same situation with the 8 ft door. Mine will fully colapse in about 2 minutes and goes right in the door. My hull design is very similar to the pic that you posted. If you wanna see a pic of the tower just give me your email address.

WOW, I appreciate all the responses. It is nice to see that there are others out there that were or are in the same situation.

I just got the boat out of storage and the kids are already hitting me up about a wake board tower. I guess I need to get one....

Monster Tower is running a special right now on the MT2 tower - free wake board racks with the purchase of the tower. So I am leaning that way.

Most of my previous questions have been already been answered or at least addressed. Now it's time for a new round of questions - Installation...

I keep hearing that the Sea Ray boats have thicker fiberglass and do not need reinforcement. My boat is a 1999, is it new enough to have the thicker fiberglass? Do I need reinforcements underneath? (or anywhere else?)

How do you locate the tower? I understand that fore/aft depends on the tower folding down in the back. That you locate it so when it folds down it does not hit anything in the back - What else do I need to worry about.

My concerns are:

1) Fitting a Bimini top someday
2) Being on top or on the side of the decking (right term for the body of the boat??)
3) I still cringe about drilling holes in the boat...But I know it has to be done. I understand you drill the holes with the drill in reverse. Any other tips??

Thanks!!

This is the tower that I built. Its alot like the joystick pro series. As for the fiberglass being thick enough, I really wouldnt worry to much about it as long as you use large backing plates with the tower that you choose.
