I'm curious as to what kind of rpms your engine is turning to get 60 mph gps from a 17" pitch prop.

Re: need advice

i dont know,we are hooking up a tach , this weekend,we clocked the boat with a handheld gps, and side by side with his bassboat witch has a 23 pitch, its running 59 and 60, he pulled my prop off when we got back from the river and told me it was a 17 and that i needed a 22 or 23, but the motor doesnt sound like its overreving, the jackplate is about all the was up, and the boat weights nothing, but i dont know , this is my first boat and im learning slowly, mostly that its a money pit, i will be able to tell yall more after i get the tack on

See if you can get some numbers off of the prop so we can verify what you are currently running. That way once you post the rpm after you install a tach,we'll have an accurate picture of your setup.
