need advice

looking at a 1984 17 foot boat with a penta volvo 125 hp thats what the title says ant.way the reason im leary about this i had a 1980 16 foot with a 120 hp mer cruser that wouldent plane out with 4 people onboard would take 100 yards with 2 i dont want another dog i took the 120 to the shop and was told thats all it would do anybody have any idea what the volvo will do top speed ec

If you want to get a boat that performs well, avoid that thing. It's going to be a DOG. Tabs won't help it with 4 people and a dog inside!!

Smart tabs worked great on my prior boat. Better holeshot and handling was 100% better.
JMO as usual Ht's right though , nothing like cubic inches and HP!!
