Hello Miloman

Whats the deal on the tourny rules? I would take a guess and say no live bait. What kind of payout is expected? Is it a multible day event. I would think you fish mostly crank baits and maybe some worms with a flashy spoon rigged to em.I hear the walleye are plentiful on Erie. Never fished it yet although I live in Pa. all the way down in the southeast part. What kind of rig you floatin? I never even see a walleye tourny advertised around here. We do have quite a few bass tournys around here put on by the local B.A.S.S. clubs. In the lake I fish the most the walleye bite has been off as of the last few years.

For what its worth ----Flathead

go to infisherman.com check walleye trail it will give all the info lake Erie is primarily trolling with cranks off planer boards downriggers gotta watch that lake though as if your not in the proper thermocline youll end up with rainbows all day and no $$$

only fished walleyes as described a couple times.
used dipsy divers. IMO trolling is trolling...
not much expertise required other than reeling them in.
you'll probably find someone with more
experience.
good luck,
M.Y.

yeah, I know what you mean! fished smokes creek
for smallies and caught a dozen or so gobies.
(we had a thread discussing it) we did catch some
nice smallies in the +/- 3lbs range. lot less perch
than when I was a kid... try the river yet?
we used to do well drifting for perch... also,
try tollin for musky round strawberry island.
the back side is a good spot.
ny state DOT asks everyone to kill every gobi caught.

Re: need an amateur partner for walleye tournament

same here we are told to kill all the gobie the problem is and this comes from a diver I spoke to that the complet ebottom of lake Erie is a carpet of gobie. Anything that eats it will die hence the amount of drum floating on the surface and the lack of perch. I wonder how they are going to get rid of the gobie you know if you handle one careful the black dot on the dorsel fin in bochalism
