Hi pullin, I agree with adding a bow roller. Whether you'll need a pulpit or just a roller will depend upon your anchor type. I am a senior with a growing disability that makes it difficult to stand from a seated position, so even simple tasks can be a real chore. I tried this on my 21' closed bow. I can deploy and retrieve the anchor without getting up from my seat at the helm. I've chosen a self-launching Delta (an original Simpson Lawrence model) that is relatively small. I consider it more of a "lunch hook" than a storm anchor, but that's how I use my boat. The system worked very well during the several times that I've used it. The roller for a Delta is probably the least expensive, since it requires only a single roller due to the Delta's angled shank. Whether my design would work for you will depend upon your anchor type and size and your boat's cuddy design. I found I didn't need a protective skirt on the stem since the anchor falls clear without contact. More details are in the rebuild thread in my signature below. - Grandad
