I am going to have the outdrive pulled from the boat and everything replaced that has any wear or needs attention before it hits the water. The issue I am having is finding somebody that has the knowledge to work on it and do it correct. Do not get me wrong I am not looking for somebody to work on this for free and I am willing to pay for this to be done, I just want somebody that has a good recomendation in this area. If I had time to study the manual and spend the time to make sure it was right I would consider doing this myself however I do not have the time and do not want to take the chance in doing it wrong and setting boating back even more.

If anybody has any suggestions please let me know.

Thanks
Phil

It might help just a little bit better if you could let everyone know what style boat and engine you have so that we could try to recommend a good place for you.;):)

Here's a link you could try out, That is if you have a mercruiser engine.
Just type in your zip code.

Good luck with it.:)

Yea that might help! It is a V8 Merc with Alpha 1 outdrive in a 1989 BAJA 216.

Thanks for the link.

I sent you a PM with a possibility of a local mechanic, but on a side note...I have no idea what condition your outdrive is in, but should it need replaced I recommend looking at SeaSide Engineering. They are building an actual aftermarket replacement for outdrives for much cheaper than the original factory replacements. I went this route about 3 years ago on a 1990 rinker and was very happy with the replacement...which cost about a 1/3 of what mercruiser wanted for a new one.
