Need Carb kit for Chrysler 9.9 with Tillotson carb

Chrysler Model 931 9.9 HP outboard built in 79-84? <br />It has a Tillotson MD144A carburetor and I need to find a rebuild<br />kit for it. It has 4 screws that hold the bowl on and all the pictures I have seen have one in the middle. I have Tried serveral of the larger supply houses and cannot locate kit. Anyone have any idea where I may find one? I can send you a picture of the carb if needed. Thanks for any help on this.

According to my info the MD carb is from before 1971.<br />I don't see any here on iboats and I don't see the carb listed in the interchange chart in the NAPA catalog.You might try Fairwinds Marina.Or consider changing to the more common Tillotson CO or the newer Walbro LMB.

I can't even find a model 931.<br />Might it be a 911 or a 933?<br />If so, it is a 1969+/- a year.<br /><br />1979-84 model numbers are 2 digits followed by a letter, another digit, then another letter.

As roscoe mentioned Chrysler started using letters for the last two digits of the model number in 1970. If your model number is only three digits long and not four it would have to be from 1969. The only year that I can see that had a 31 in it was 1967 and 1968 however those models would have had another digit between the 9 and the 31.<br /><br />Try calling (573) 392-7378 and check with them. The place is called the carburetor shop

I will double check the model number at the shop, but that is what she told me. Everyone that I talked to said it should have a longer number on it, but they double checked and said that is all they saw. The only reason I was thinking it was a 79-84 was that it was a electric key start with motorola electronics on it. Thanks for you guys help if you can think of anything else let me know. I will try the carb shop on Monday.

Try discountmarineparts.com they seem to have the most kits available for that carb manufacturer. Good luck!

I did check discount marine arts and the do have that carb kit for Tillotson MD-144A. Call them at 906-466-2180 the kit # is DI-20369.
