Need correct impeller

Hi Folks,

I've got a 1994 9.9hp OMC Johnson Sailmaster, model J10SELER, serial number 03655489. I'm a noob trying to service this motor. I ordered "Impeller 386084 18-3050 for Johnson Evinrude BRP OMC 8HP 9.9HP 15HP outboard motor water pump" from Amazon, and it doesn't fit.

Does anyone know what the correct part number is?

0386084 is the correct part# according to 2 places I checked

Guessing what you got was the Sierra equivalent, not an OEM BRP part, the iboats listing is for the OEM part.

The correct # is 386084. There may be some mis-packageing going on.

I think I have the right part after all. I didn't know you have to bend the vanes on the impeller to get it in the pump. The old impeller was so beat up it kinda just fell out of the cup. I didn't notice that the brass insert was still on the shaft. The brass insert is so stuck, I can't get it off. Heated it, hammered it, won't budge. Using a hacksaw next.

Able to save the key? Vanes bent for clockwise rotation on the shaft, but they will orient themselves anyway when you run the motor.

..used a hacksaw this morning. came off easily. Now I have to hunt for an O ring replacement. The one on top of the pump housing was crushed. I guess the last hands on this thing weren't very gentle.

After I hacksawed off the old impeller brass, I was able to save the key.
