Problem with NS70A2 360-1 sn 24409. Lower cylinder bearing failed causing damage to the lower cylinder rod connection to the crank. The kicker is: Cannot field disassemble as the rods and crank are a factory pinned assembly. Does anyone have a clue if a replacement assembly consisting of the the two rods, crank and bearings is available?

If you contact Nissan, they may have a rebuilder. The crank is a buildt up crank pressed together, and a few years ago you could buy the parts needed for a rebuild. You just press it apart, use a new pin, rod, and bearing press back together. Put crank in jig to true flywheels.

Thanks Clanton, does anyone know of a rebuilder or where I can get a replacement? Left e-mail on Nissan site, but do not know how to get to parts dept.

Thanks clanton, Will pursue both of your suggestions. Spent a couple of nights in you community last week. Went sailing with a friend in the bay and stayed at the Bay Side Days Inn before going over to Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach. Great Time, returned to cold Arkansas.

clanton, A local dealer provided today a price of over $900 retail just to give me a starting place for the assembly. He also provided a name: Ackerman's with a TN who does this type of work. The local dealer has little trouble with these engines and has limited experience in this area. They also sell and service Yamaha, Mercury, and Bombarder. I will pursue their lead as well as your's.
