Need Dash/Gauge Help?

To make a long story as short as possible I recently picked up a 1998 Stingray 190RX from a friend.
He thought the Alternator was bad because the trim, fuel, and Volt gauges are always pegged,or acted eraticaly.Anyway I luanched tthe boat to see if I could find anything for myself, and to test run the boat(been sitting for 2 years).Anyway boat runs and drives great, but the fuel gauge is always pegged, the trim gauge barely comes down past 3/4 to 1/2,and the Volt gauge is always pegged(maxed out).
At one time he had a huge gel battery for powering his TVDVD combo through a Inverter, and he's added a dual batt switch which is hooked up correctly(I checked).
I also checked the the out put of the Alt. and it shows 14.8 volts @Idle,wich I though was high but took it(the ALT)in and had it bench tested, and the tech said it was supposed to be that high.
I've cleaned all the grounds, inspected the harnesses and everything looks good.
Could there be a voltage regulator for the dash, like some auto's or where should I be looking?
Thanks Alot:
Bill

A start would be to recheck the ground to be sure it is good all the way back to the same battery as the pos.

I agree, this sounds like a wiring issue. Especially if the boat has been sitting. I would check all connections before I worry wether or not it is a component problem. I quick way to see is to check voltage at the back of the volt gauge. If it is normal and the guage its still wacky then you know its either the gauge or its ground. Being that it is several gauges acting stupid then I predict you have some corrosion problems in a harness connection. You would be surprised how just a touch of corrosion in the wrong place can make things go goofey in the gauges.
