I brought an aluminun fuel tank, it is old, but no leaks.
I removed all the old fitting off, clean the inside.
I have a list of all new hardware on the tank, fitting, fuel line etc, etc
(shopping now actually)
but I can't find a fuel pick up line. I found bulkhead fitting for the tank but nothing else.

I did search around the forum and seen that you pretty much have to make these yourself. I cant believe on one sells a kit
What a good way to make one up? what material? copper? rubber hose?
Most of this is just common sense, but I am NOT a plumber!
I don't want to do this twice!

I would go with aluminum. Copper and aluminum would most likely cause problems being dissimilar metals and all. Like a battery.

David, A fuel pickup is simply a tube of the correct length that screws into the tank. The tanks are usually NPT (pipe thread). Aluminum tanks usually have a threaded hole to accept the fuel puckup. The tube can be plastic or aluminum, or brass, if necessary.

First choice is two brass hose nipples that can screw into a flush bushing from both sides, that also fits the tank hole. Other than that, you need to be creative and engineer something.
