Need help! 2 days till the big run and '96 Johnson 225 wont run! Please help...

...Our boat has issues starting after extended towing and we got it to Charleston and it won't start. Messed around with it and can only get it to start and stay running at 3/4 throttle or 4K+ RPM's.. Shooting ether and all other efforts fail to start it a idle and reducing throttle below 3500 stalls the motor.. Any thoughts or ideas?? Without all of you guys helping me this boat would have been sold a long time ago, so thanks in advance again for any help..

Follow the steps in the CDI guide starting on page 60. Check to make sure all electrical connections are tight and clean. It sounds like something rattled loose while towing it.

While reducing power the 2nd carb from the bottom port side backfires through 2K rpm range before it stalls..
