Need help have a 2005 25hp 2 stroke. In the past year I have replaced the power pack carburetor spark plugs and fuel pump tank and fuel lines are all good. When I crank it up it runs fine and will typically idle fine when warmed up. I have taken it to a certified Mercury mechanic multiple times and he keeps telling me just to mess with the idle screw. He has adjusted it and I have adjusted it multiple times. After I run under a load and try to go back into neutral it almost wants to surge and rev up really high if I pull the choke it’ll typically idle down and shut off. If I sit there and adjust the idle screw out it will calm down but it will do it again. I am at wits end with it. If running at low speed’s it is fine but if I run it at WOT and go to back it down you cannot pop it back into neutral unless you shut it off or really mess with the idle screw and pull the choke out for it to idle down enough.
