NEED HELP 200 Johnson outboard

Hey everyone, newbie to the forum. Great information on here.

I have a 97 Cajun fish and ski witha 200 johnson venom. I bought this boat from a relative. The boat had not been run in 3 or 4 years. Gas was drained, de-carbed the carburators, new plugs, compression test, etc. I took the boat out yesterday after i got it back from mechanic and gave it gas and it took of and was running great for about 15 minutes. After that could not get the boat to plane out, it idles great and in neutral I can get it up to at least 6000 rpms, but when in gear it is just sluggish and will not get above 2500 rprm's. What else can I check for, what could be the problem.

You have 2 or more cylinders not making power. Could be a carb or a power pak.

also... try to prime the bulb see if any change... i have the feeling you might of got some dirty stuff in your carbs or fuel filter.... do you have one? check/replace
