I have removed the six bolts and removed the pin from hydrolic cylinder to motor, also screwed in manual release valve. The unit will move about 1/2" but that is it. It acts like it is hitting something.

Is there something i am missing. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

move the motor all the up by hand and stick a piece of 2x4 underneath, it might just need that little extra. Thats what I had to do on mine. Just resting the motor on the lever might not be enough.

Thanks, will try anything at this point. It is hot and humid out here.

At lunch was looking at it and it looks like the top side of this brace made into the resivor (right side) is hitting on the part that bolts to the boat that the t/t slides out of. Will try to take some pictures and post tomorrow.

Think about taking the drimel to it!!!

You need to retract the tilt cylinder manually, then lift up and out. Pull the motor cable through the transom bracket.

This is my unit but not my motor. Pics I found on web. I have labeled what is hitting. The tnt will not pull toward you or rotate out. It wants to go up but hits that peice on the resivor.

Might have to zoom in but best I could do for not tacking actual pictures

When the unit is down in the original position, if you push the tilt ram down and pull the top of the unit out first, it's supposed to clear. If it won't clear, you will probably have to loosen the port transom bracket to get some freedom.

What is involved to loosen the port transom bracket. I am assuming the transom bracket is the part that bolts to the transom.

Well I repositioned the boat toady and gave it another look with lights the tnt is not hitting on the transom bracket were I thought. Now i have no CLUE...

I was looking at the transom bracket and If I loosen those 2 bolts (port side) and undue the steering, do I loosen that big nut behind where the cable and push rod go through? Also I guess I need a cherry picker to hold the motor up when loosening the transom bolts?

Thanks again for the help. I found the tnt motor for 55$ just need to confirm its right for my system. It is a 2 wire 3 bolt motor.
