I am needing some help figuring out how much 2 part foam i need.

My dimensions are as follows.

the void is 10 inches wide (between stringer and hull) at the front

It then tappers out to 15 inches at the back

The void is 104 inches long from front to back

The void is 4 inches high at the stringer and the tappers to 0 inches high where the deck meets the hull.

Anyone up for this challenge?????

Thank you in advance.

Re: need help calculating cubic feet.

I came up with a different figure... 1.53 cu. ft.

Average 10" - 15" = 12.5" = 1.04' x 8.67' x average 4" - 0" = 2" = .17" = 1.53 cu. ft.

Even if you figure it by the widest and deepest points it only comes out to 3.57 cu. ft.

Figuring cubic feet and pouring it full of concrete is kinda what I do.

I agree...... you can figure 1 cubic ft per quart. Use the 2lb density no need for any heavier since it is not structural ..........

Lay some 2" blue board insulation in there and you will get by fine with 2 quarts.

Yup, I did not calculate the taper from 4" to 0". And I added a bit for waste

Okay so by the calculation of 3.57 cubic feet I will fine with what I ordered. 1.8 gallons or 8 cubic feet... Thank you.

How many of those voids that size do you have in your boat?

Re: need help calculating cubic feet.

foam is an expencive thing to do to a boat......but nessary .

when i use pour in foam in a hull.....i do a shallow pour of an area....then add any hard insulation foam panels i can find from construction sites.....then....i throw them in and pour more on top......

2 part foam is really messy to work with.....i suggest you wear thick rubber gloves....11 mil.....or your wives cleaning gloves.....and a paper coverall set.
if the foam gets on your clothes or your hands....it doesnt come off...

Re: need help calculating cubic feet.

I have two voids of this size. I figure I can use whatever is left over to put in the seat bases. I cannot use block foam as the deck is already down.
