You may need a bearing splitter, but you didn't say what the problem is so...

Re: Need help changing lower crankshaft bearing

The problem was the shaft was frozen in the crankshaft spline. Heat was applied (acytelyene torch) to the end of the crankshaft. The shaft was pryed free. But the spacers between the ball bearings melted. Now the bearing must be replaced. I assume the bearing is press fitted on the shaft. I removed 2 circlips. I assume I can relax the the bolts that hold the two halfs of the powerhead together to relax the pressure on the outer race. Will I have to use a puller to get the inner race off of the shaft. i don't want to completely dis assemble the power head.

It's best to never use an acetylene torch anywhere on a outboard engine (aluminum). Use a hand held propane torch with a blow torch head..... hot but not hot enough to do damage.

Bite the bullet, tear that little powerhead down and then use a slide hammer on the bearing. If a slide hammer won't fit in there, use a brass punch and hammer to gradually knock it off.
