Need help choosing a tach

Hey guys, I’ve fallen down the tachometer rabbit hole. I’ve seen lots of comments that some tachs are for IO or some for OB. Some don’t state anything at all. How do I choose the right one? I have several three cylinder Johnson/Evinrudes from late 80’s early 90’s that I’d like to upgrade.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, my dash is apart and being rebuilt. I’d like to add one to the layout.

TIA

90% of the Tachs dont care what they are connected to if you set the switches correctly

Now a days it's a Must have one installed for general idle-wot rpm readings, maximizing current props from factory delivered ones, checking how much the wot rpm decreases as load increases while powering different applications.?

I picked up a nice retro looking tach from sierra. I will let you know how it goes.

Edit;

Now I have to pick up one of these
