Need help choosing boat

I am a complete beginner to boating and need help picking a boat...or at least to be pointed in the right direction. I am interested in doing inshore/offshore ocean fishing, but would also like a cabin. Eventually I would like to travel down the east coast of US down to caribbean. Are there any boats that would allow me to do all of that or am I looking at multiple boats?

Either multiple boats or a big one capable of handling east coast storms. Be careful off of Cape Hatteras.

I would say you are talking about more than just one boat. Depending on what you would define as offshore fishing, you may be able to get by with one boat to handle your inshore/offshore fishing. A walk-around cuddy of about 24 feet will handle that task if you're well equipped for going offshore. Taking a trip down the east coast to the Carribean would be pretty cramped in a boat of that type. If you had a 40'er, you'd be having a bit of trouble with the inshore fishing.​

m8..if your new to boating..I would suggest you get a small sail dink..take it out during a storm..If you can love that then start asking what kinda boat you should get to fill your dreams. IF your new..and the Carib sounds all fun and games then you are deluding yourself and puts you and your family at fate..

I sailed the Carib and lemme tell ya..its not all fun in the sun sailing..and your talking power boats ?

get a sail boat .. IF you like water..if not..then stay ashore .. because its just...not...right..out there..only Freaks live by salt..its in your blood.

My only suggestion would be Stay Away From offshore !

IF you can overcome that..then you wont want a power boat anyways ( unless your rich beyond means ).
