Need Help!! Don't know which kit is the right for my sterndrive

I have a rinker boat 1984 model. I need to replace the shift cable. I don't know what kit is the right one for my model. How do I find OEM# or GLM#???
This is my first boat and with no experience in buying parts.

Engine 4 cylinder 120 mercruiser
Sterndrive Serial #6806258

Get the OEM shift cable kit. The cable is now teflon coated and slides easier and lasts longer than the aftermarket kits. The slide also spins freely on the end of the cable and doesn't hang up like the aftermarket one do.
They are only about 20 bucks more than the aftermarket, but will last years longer.

Sorry, but I'm still confused
I'm still not sure what type of Sterndrive I have. I've been reading lots of manuals but can't get a straight response. The serial # on my Sterndrive is 6806258.. I guess I just can't see the p/n cross referencing ..
Can anyone help explain???

If its original, 84 is an "R/MR" drive.

In the link I provided above it gives you the part number you need along with pics of it. You have an Alpha One drive according to your serial number.
