Need help finding a part

Hello,

Was out fishing a few weeks ago, and while trimming my motor, the switch on the speed control lever that controls the trim broke. Basically I was on plane, and using my thumb on the switch to trim up. Out of nowhere, the switch pushed "in" to the controller (like a piece of plastic broke and it pushed inside.) I could always tell the switch was on its way out (it was getting 'sticky').

The problem I'm having is finding JUST that switch. Seems like I can only find an entire new throttle control replacement unit, which I don't need. Any suggestions?

It's a 1997 Evinrude 115

Ahh ok. I guess I was looking more for a part number or something to find it on the iboats store. I'll try the salvage yards. Thanks!

Try shop.evinrude.com Go through the prompts and you'll find it.

The part number for switch is #0176521 and the conversion kit is part #0176517. Both are NLA as is a lot of parts for those style boxes. Crowley Marine shows that they have a dealer with one of each.....

Jeepers, that stupid switch is expensive. Might just wire up a regular self-centering toggle switch in its place.

Yep, mine broke this summer and I just wired up a toggle switch on the console. No use paying over a hundred dollars when I can do it for eight dollars.

salve a tutti mi presento in arte batela , mi servirebbe un aiuto io ho un evinrude e40tl del 1997 e mi si sono consumate le spazzole del trim mi potreste dare un indirizzo dove comperarle?? ho guardato da x tutto e non trovo niente p.s (le spazzole non quelle dell' avviamento ) grazie mille e spero possiate aiutarmi ciao
