has any one heard of mercstuff.com? And if so does any one know of a phone number for them. Also if you have order from them how does it work as in ordering and getting response from them? Just really need to know if this is a good site to order parts from? 1968 mercruiser.

You might try iboats. Right above your post on the right side. A lot of folks on the forum order from iboats with good results plus iboats host this fine forum. Best of luck.

mercstuff has it's place, in my mind. only thing i'll say is the stuff i've got from them has mostly been glm stuff. what little glm stuff i got, it was enough for me to not get more glm, whoever sells it. and many do. i don't remember ever being in contact with them. think i did all my orders via www. pretty much no contact if i remember right. they were also timely in getting my parts to me. and they got me what i ordered... all went smooth, just no contact that i remember..
i've found that the mercruiser dealer is the best place to start for looking for parts. the oem parts just work. which is more that can be said for some aftermarket parts. if ya really want aftermarket, or your parts are only available aftermarket due to nla from the oem. iboats for sure is the best place to start..

iboats is awesome for advice ,etc. I managed to do a partial engine rebuild on a 1965 110 hp with their help. I found a supplier at marinepartsplus.com that had blowup diags for all the engines , outdrives etc and they had nearly every part i needed, even many that some dealers said were unavailable, take your time and ask questions, these guys will really help you!

All depends on the parts you are needing. I was looking for a Starter last month and was unwilling to pay $176 for one. I found one on eBay for $60 from DB Electronics and now looking for an Alternator and again I am unwilling to pay $150+ when I can pay $70 from eBay. I am not endorsing eBay but that is where I buy most of my parts.
