need help getting the right fuel pump kit

The motor is a 1975 evinrude 70hp, the # on the front of the fuel pump is worn out, so i went with the kit ebay told me to get, #393103 guess what, its the wrong one. The back of the pump reads 328781, which doesnt match anything. I just need to know which kit i need theres like 4 different ones which all look the same, heres some pics. Thanks, xj

I have the exact same fuel pump on a '76 40HP Johnson OB. I think the number you are reading on the back is simply the part number for that back part and not the actual pump itself. I think the actual part number for the fuel pump is 0385781. So maybe you can find a kit that works with that part number...

Thats were i run into another problem, the rebuild kits dont give you the pump # that they rebuild, they just give you the part# of the kit itself and a list of engines it should fit. Marineengine says i should have a 438559 pump, but they dont give the part # for the rebuild kit.

438559 has 2 brass barbs and one plastic one. Look your engine up on the b o a t s . Net parts diagram

B o a t s.net says i should have a model 0385784 pump, but still doesnt list a rebuild kit. Why do they make this so confusing?

what is wrong with the kit that you got? are all of the gaskets completely wrong?

Yep, the top part is more of a triangle and the top and bottom screws dont line up, im thinkin about stopping in at a local marine shop to see what they could tell me
