This outdrive was used on Nissans in the late 80s and early 90s. The only markings on the is DP. Some of them have the single exhaust port some have the bubble on the bottom like dp-d. All of them have this center in between the upper and lower containing the lower bearing race. I assumed it was a dp-a, but I cannot find any part list that has this centerplate. I need the water inlet washer and packing but I have not been successful for days on figuring out what this is. There are no part numbers on it (like most volvo stuff) so it has been difficult. The rest just look like a normal dp.

I found out it is dp-e, still no clue what to order though. Hopefully the dealer can help. I guess these are used to make the drives 2" longer maybe?

That is a drive spacer for an AQ series

Fits 290DP thru DP-H (or there about)

Just look at the parts breakdown for the appropriate AQ drive for the seals.

It uses the same 2 o-rings as the ones at the joint on the standard drives, just twice as many

Thank you for your help. One looks like a plate with a seal in the middle. (which leaked and sucked air) The more I look into it I agree with you it is just the same thing doubled. I have no idea where or how it was from. It is just an extension. I did think about just going through hull and strainer, but it would be so much more crap to step around down there, and the power steering would not have a cooler not that it needs it. I guess I just have to make a choice. I do have a dp-a with the same extension I could run for now as it it is a 1.95 also. The pinion in my dp-e is just toast. Water ate it. Just a little hint to the others, if you send water the other way you can see what is leaking. If they leak at high power you will get some hi temp alarms. Some people just loosen the caps to vent the air, but it is leaking. It can be a pain to fix though.

Is there a full bearing and seal kit for the dp-e lower? It would be way easier than buying them one by one. Also I want to change all the hardware. Any ideas of where to find part numbers for the extension? the allen bolts are different

Well that is annoying, I guess it is one by one. Guess I should be happy only one is broke.

I simply looked at the old bearings, noted the part numbers and ordered them from the local bearing house for a out 15% of the Volvo price
