can anyone give me any info on this boat? I had a guy tell me I had to remove the top off of the hull and add foam. Then refasten the cap to the hull. I am also wondering what size outboard this thing will handle. Any info on this and any help or guidance you can give me would be greatly apreciated.

I had a guy tell me alot of things..but he was mistaken for a mime ( I really thought I understood him too ;) ) .

Pressure wash the thing .. ALL of it.. then come back with more pics..

Looks like a itty bitty 15 footer... I have one at the shop (without the lawn chair) ill try to post..

As far as outboard size..dont even think about it for now .. fixerup first..

Re: need help identifying and with hull info

It is not as rough as it looks. I do not yet know hull # as someone has done a poor job on the transom and covered it with pressure treated plywood. I will remove when I get a chance. It is only ten feet in length. It looks rough as someome has had a da on it and has it pretty welll sanded. The hull looks good but someone tried to do some fiberglass repairs to the front where the cap overlaps the hull without grinding down to the glass. Just thougfht someone may have had seen one before and knew a little about it. Also did not know why it would be neccasary to remove the cap.

10' long okay my guess is it is a Cougar Cub. They were small go fast look a likes that were popular for a short time. You see them on ebay once in a while. A few videos on you tube too

Re: need help identifying and with hull info

Thanks Bob, sure enough after looking at the u tube videos that is what I have. Does anyone know why I would need to remove the cap and if this boat does need some sort of foam put in? The few smal cracks I have in the bow are easy enough to repair, From what I have seen in the u tube photos most of these have a rub rail. Someone has added plywood to the transom to beef it up which I will address when I get further into it. Just looking for info on the cap removal if neccasary and whether it needs some sort of foam.

Looks just like the Cougar Cub my uncle had, even the same color (his was a bit cleaner) ....Not sure what it was rated for but I know he had a 50HP Johnson on it and it would fly across the water.
