Need help...just purchased a lowrance fishfinder

Do I really need to drill holes into hull to mount bracket??? I'm kind of Leary about having holes below water line can't I just epoxy it?

Well yes and no. If you don't want to drill holes, there are brackets available that you can hang over the back and mount the transducer to. Me i would get me a piece of starboard drill a couple of mounting holes in the starboard and transom, Marinetex the holes in the transom to make sure you don't get any water in the wood (transom) and 3M 5200 the holes and mount the starboard. This way you can mount anything you want and not have to make anymore holes in the transom.

I pre drill my holes, fill them with 3m 5200, coat the screws with it, and no leaks. Epoxying it on should have no effect whatsoever, but will make replacement more amusing.

I hot glued a chunk of nylon to my transom. Then I screwed the transducer in it. I imagine a chunk of that plastic wood they use for decks would work as well.
