Hi all, I would like to know if anybody knows how to take apart a Eagle Ultra III Plus fishfinder? I had moisture inside of the screen. The finder works great, but I can't see the image on the screen. I called the factory and they said that they don't repair that older model. It seems a shame to throw this away. THank You

Try putting it in a large ziplock bag with as much uncooked rice as will fit and still allow you to completely close the bag. Set it in a sunny spot for a couple of days to speed up the process. If there are any openings in the case that could allow grains of rice to enter, first put the fishfinder into a nylon stocking and tie it off before putting it in the ziplock.

Thanks for the reply NYBo, Maybe I didn't explain my situation very well, the moisture has dried up and it left a film on the back of the screen and its almost impossible to read the screen in the sunlite. I just need to take it apart to clean the film off of the back of the screen. Thanks again

Ah, that IS a different matter. Can't help you with that, I'm afraid. No visible fasteners or covers under which fasteners may be lurking?

Locators are hermetically sealed and the seal has apparently broken on yours. Even if you did get it apart, cleaned the screen and put it back together, the next humid day would result in moisture infiltration.

I looked on the net to see what your fishfinder looks like . i wonder if the front panel has some sort of thick flexible plastic bezel that is stuck on with adhesive. take something with a rounded end and push in around the perimeter of the black part of the bezel. if you come across several area's that push in slightly and have a circular hole underneath the bezel then the plastic will have to come off. if your careful you can do it very gently. As far as sealing it back up there are several different sealants that would probably work. Hey,it leaks anyway and if i was in your position i would do it in a second.
