Need help positively identifying outboard

I recently bought and Evinrude outboard and the guy believes it is a 1975 135hp. It has no markings on it and I have no reason to doubt him. The only problem is I'm trying to buy new shift/throttle cables for it and the the pre-1979 ones don't look like they would fit (and don't look like the ones that came with it). It looks more like it uses the 1979 and later ones. I took some pictures of the throttle/shift connections and assorted shots of the motor. The pictures aren't very good (I took them at night with my phone) but if anyone can help me positively ID it it I would appreciate it. Also, can the 1979 and later cables be used on the 1975 motor? BTW it does have the two barrel carb and aluminium barrels.

It has no markings on it including the model/serial number plate.

You should find a quarter sized welch plug on the powerhead with the numbers on it. If that is gone, then it's likely that your motor was stolen in the past. No other reason those would be removed.

I see the plug that should have the numbers on it.
Top rear of the power head, right behind where you lift the engine.

Only if that power head were rebuilt, that welch plug might not be there with the correct numbers.

As far as the cables.......... yes the 1979 should work fine. I have a 1983 motor and much older controls which made me go nuts when I replaced the control cables but iboats was my savior!

Looking at the ignition parts and stuff.....it certainly looks like a '75ish motor to me.

I looked and cannot find the plug. Where exactly is it. Here are picture of the rear power head by the lifting ring. There is a number on there, not sure if that's it.

The welch plug is probably under that bracket ...........

It is a "freeze" plug about the size of a quarter.

Here is a picture of a freeze plug to give you a better idea (not from an outboard but similar to what you are looking for)
