need help QUICK!!!!!!

i am trying to get .462 btdc on my mercury 150 xr4.
i guess my indicator is not long enough, my question is when i hit tdc how far counter clockwise do i turn it to get it btdc.

turn the motor clockwise until your dial indicator needle stops...leave the dial indicator in that position and rotate the indicator face with the red arrow on it and line the red arrow up with the needle...now simply rotate the motor counter-clockwise until the gauge needle backs down to the .462 mark...
