Bought a 89 Four Winns Horizon 200 with an OMC 5.8 earlier this year and took it out yesterday for the first time of the season! All was going great, starts right up and took off! Plenty of power, ran smooth and sounds great. Sat back and talked with my friend for a few minutes then went to take off to drive some more and as soon as it got to 1500 RPM it bogged down and died.
Motor starts back up immediately and idles fine without hesitation or sputtering. I can rev the motor fine in neutral but not under a load. Got the boat home, put on muffs and it ran fine. Would go past the point in gear on muffs.
Took fuel water separator off today at lunch and it looked like just gas was in it (with the exception of a few small particles). Going to go home after work and pull the anti-siphon valve out, sending unit so I can see into the tank and the filter at the carb to check everything for blockages. Is there anything else I should look for as far as possible issues?
Thanks in advance!
