Hi.... Quick question re leaf springs on my little trailer designed for a 14ft Jon.

On each spring, there is sort of a clamp which wraps around the spring leaves. At the top on one end there is a square hole punched out. On the mating end there is a tab which goes through the square hole in the other end. Obviously, the two ends are supposed to be joined together by inserting the tab and folding it over.

Problem is that on both springs, the tab has nearly unfolded, and I'm concerned that the whole strap thing will let go. The local boat store assures me that this will never be a problem !! I'm still concerned.

Any recommendations or fixes ???

Very respectfully....

So fold it back over again. Then add a stainless steel hose clamp over it. Then go boating.

Thanks, Silvertip....

From my ancient Mechanical Engineering point of view, I thought something like that might suffice. But then, boats and trailers are different beasts !!......

Thanks again !!!

Very respectfully,
