I am trying to remove the cylinder head form my mercruiser 165. All bolts are out ,side form one that is so rusted that it has actually become part of the head, I cannot even see the separation. the 3/4 nut is rusted down to about .5 inches but i cannot grip it. I thought about taking a cutoff tool to cut off the top, i am going to replace the head anyway i am pretty sure. this will lev the rest of the bolt in the head, i am concerned i will not be able to get it out. I have heard folks weld new nuts on top, i do not have a welder and would have to take the engine to a shop. will runs don and take a picture. open to suggestions

Re: Need help removing cylinder head

Have the head and manifold pressure tested you have to find the cause of the water intrusion
