What is the model number?

The seal kit for the 1990 or 1991 200 hp is 0396353, both standard rotation and counter.

Re: Need Help W/ Prop Shaft Removal

I dropped the prop shaft off at a local machine shop & came back a week later & he said he was afriad he was going to break it so he stopped. Not being able to find anybody else willing to mess with it I expained to him that it was not doing me any good bent so with me there he put it on the press and afer about an hour of pressing and going to the lathe an marking we finally got it straight. The best part about it is it only costy me $25. Big saving campared to the $200 + shipping. I got the lower unit put back together. Everything seemed to be fine. Shifted in & out of gear and everything worked as it should. Yester day I put it back on the negine & went to the lake for test run. Seemed to run fine. I probably ran about ten miles. When I got home I checked the fluid and noticed metal shavings. Nothing real major but nonethe less it looks like glitter. I drained the lube and put new in but have not run agian to check. Could this glitter be from break in of reasembled unit? I can't imagine what could be causing it. I did not reshim when i put back together because as you can see below Flabum said I didn't need to. I just put it right back together the way it came a part. Should I bother taking it out agian or tear it back apart and see whats going on. I don't know if I will be able to see where the glitter is coming from. After I drained the oil I didn't think it looked very bad. Only when looking at it in the sun can you really see the metal. (very fine) Any thoughts?

The fine particles may have been in the LU before your repair. It's normal to have some of that stuff on the magnetic lower drain plug at each oil change. I wouldn't be too concerned.

I thought of that but when I had it apart I cleaned it spotless with degreaser.
I don't think they are left from before. Is it normal to have shavings after just running for 30 min or so?

I would run it for ~ 25 hours, drain and check again.
