Need help wiring up a tach...

So I bought a tach for my 2011 Lowe Skorpion with a Mercury 60/40 jet outboard.

GND/IGN/SEND

Ground is easy, I got that. I believe I have found the wire (orange) to hook up to IGN. SEND is the question: What wire do I hook up to that one? I was under the impression that it was a gray wire but I don't have a solid gray wire under the dash (only one gray/blue, and one gray/green).

I was trying to trace the wires with no luck (they all seem to be useless for the tach).

Please help because I am pulling my hair out

mercury says its a grey wire. on omc its a plug on the controller on mercury im not sure so it might be worth doubling this post to the mercury engine forum so they can tell you where mercury hides the other end of the cable

So I pulled this harness out from behind the shifter... there is a small gray wire in there. Is this what I am looking for?

Also, there is a gray wire coming from the regulator that isn't connected to anything. It's just capped off as if they knew they weren't gonna install a tach at the factory so they just left it...??

It gets connected to the bottom of the ignition coil where it gets grounded by the points or electronics.
