I would like to know if the clipper circuit should be bypassed or should be used on 1972 model 100293R evinrude? I have two repair manuals and one the newer manual shows it bypassed and the ariginal has it as connected. I am very confused.

Yes , there was a " clipper circuit " installed.-----Prevented high voltage from damaging the amplifier I believe.

I would be interested in knowing if the original clipper circuit should be replaced or should I delete the old clipper circuit as the newer book shows? I would appreciate you’re knowledgeable input!

I think the clipper circuit is outdated and can be eliminated.----Note----I think I have one of those 1972 blocks on the shelf with 4 new pistons.----Left over from my more ambitious years.

Thank you sir for your fast reply and your knowledge. I really do appreciate it as this is the first time I have tried to revive an old engine like this.
