Neutral interlock will not affect ign. It only interrupts voltage to starter solenoid. You should have the old wiring colors. White is power to ign, yellow is starter solenoid, black is ground, grey is choke, red is +12VDC, salmon or orange is unused, brown is tach signal.

got it!!! it fires right up with the first bump of the key. gonna haul it to the lake in hour or so. i couldnt get it to pump water with the muffs on. maybe it will in the water. i have to order the impeller if not. ill prolly go ahead and order it anyway. if it dont pump water today then ill only run it for a min or so then shut it down. one thing i couldnt understand was even when the key is off i still have power on my red wire on the starter solenoid. is this normal? seems like it would drain my battery like this. thanks again for all the help every1.

might just be the pisser clogged up mine gets clogged a couple of times a year from running the rivers but most of the merc dealers have the impeller in stock for 20 bucks or less, if your not sure when the last time it was changed i would do it and yes the red wire being hot is normal
