Re: Need help with 1984 inboard cheetah 170hp boat.
OK. Latest update. I pulled all the carpet off the deck today. I also removed the panels up where the passenger and driver feet go. Now I can see up under the bow, and it's really got me scratching my head on how to replace the deck. Please oh please, if anyone has any input, please let me know what you think. The deck goes up under the fiberglass molded bow. The carpet was barely overlapped under it, so it pulled out easy. But the deck goes all the way up. Do I just take my sawzall and carefully cut across right where the bow starts?
It looks like my deck is a layer of fiberglass, then plywood, then another layer of fiberglass on top of that. Also, the floor seems to have some squares in it that were fiberglassed over good. I've pointed them in the picture. Is this some kind of anchor?
I'm real hesitant to just rip the plywood up because I want to do it as cleanly as possible so I can use the existing deck as a template to cut the new wood.
