My dog got to the wires on my trailer...

I have them spliced back, yellow to yellow, yellow/brown to yellow/brown, green to green, brown to brown, and the white wire from the plug to a ground on the trailer. There was no white wire coming out of the trailer. With a tester I have power back to where I spliced. But I still have no lights.

Any ideas??

White Is Ground, Yellow Is Left Turn ,green Is Right Turn ,brown Is Marker Lights . You Proubaly Know This Already But In Case You Dont It Is Good To Know When Trouble Shooting. Bad Dog, Bad I Say!!!!!!!!!!!!:) YOU MAY HAVE TO RUN A GROUND WIRE FROM A GOOD CLEAN PLACE ON THE TRAILER TO YOUR PLUG.

My dog used to chew on my trailer wires too until I put one of those electric fence transformers on it. It was a galvanized trailer so once she put her nose to the trailer when she was ready to attack the wires...ZAPPPPP! She gave that trailer a wide berth after that!

Double check your ground. If your ground is good at least part of the lights should work. Also make sure you took enough chewed section out. It's posible the wires were broken a short distance in from the chewed area.

It was the ground. I was grounding the meter on the trailer and that was working, but the lights wouldn't. I had the thing tore apart trying to figure it out. Thanks!

Had a dog once that liked to chew on everything. In fact he chewed the wires out from under my pickup once, that was a mess. Lucky for that dog my wife liked him.

Sometimes direct contact of trailer to auto hitch makes the ground. Sometimes they pull ground wires to the lights, sometimes they rely on trailer frame ground. Check lights to make sure they ground properly. Check trailer frame to make sure it is grounded to car/truck.
