I am having a new to me 225 Evinrude 1998 installed- I am preparing the boat in my yard before I bring it to the shop. They have my motor at the their yard. I have a binnacle control installed on starboard side. There are 4 places where I can connect cables. I have the throttle (I think) cable installed on the forward outside (starboard) side of the control. I presently have the throttle installed on the rearward inside (port) connection. The forward throttle seems to function properly and the gears seems right except when I try to go in reverse. It seems it goes into gear but I can't move the controller any further rearward to advance the throttle. I think I must have it hooked up wrong. Any help please?
