Need help with info on VIP Vindicator

I have just purchased a 1989 VIP 2300 Vindicator. I am looking to get any manuals for this boat. I was told that this engine is a Ford Big Block and i cannot find a info plate on this engine. Any help would be appreciated.

It's a OMC King Cobra Setup. It is a Ford 460 Engine. It is rated at 340 HP. There should be a Serial # plate on the valve cover on the port side of the motor. There is also a ID plate on the port side of the outdrive just above the area where the upper and the lower drive pieces bolt together.
The best thing to do is get you a factory service manual and parts catolog. I got mine from Searayman13 on Ebay. Spend some time in the forums and you'll learn alot about your boat.
There isn't really a owners manual per se available. If your lucky you might find one on Ebay but as far as the boat itself....nothing.

thank you for the info. One question I do have is how do you get the water out of the water tank for the sink etc. do you siphon it out?

Where's the tank at paul? There should be a drain valve on it somewhere. Probably drains into the bilge area. Then drain out of plug in transom or pump out with bilge pump if the boat is in the water.
