I am interested in trading my 1973 evinrude 135 hp motor with a guy. What specs do i need to know. Length of shaft? What is mine? 20 "

He has a 1986 evinrude 150 hp for sale. I would pay some money with my motor. Would this be a good trade? What do I need to know, to be certain it will fit my boat? 1973 signa trihull

If they are both 20 inch shafts than it will bolt and plug up with no problems. They should both be red plugs. Is you boat rated for a 150? If it is I would swap them as long as you believe you are getting a good deal. The 150 has better parts availibility and the tilt and trim is much easier to service.
