I have a 2000 Bayliner cutty, Mercruiser Alpha one, engine ser # 0l628761, I believe I have stall gas thats been in tank for about 2 years in a 30 gal tank, i rebuilt the carb when i first found out my high speed jets were clogged, i put seafoam in , i dont know exactly where the fuel filter is , I see something that looks like an oil filter, but now i know its got to be fuel because its coming from gas tank. To make a long story short, when i get about 30 knots it can be steady for a while, but then it surges up and down and sometimes i might hear a little backfire. I'm not able to get full throttle, somebody help.??

So you are running it with the same gas that has been in there for 2 years. After you rebuilt the carb you used that same gas is that correct??

Start by getting the old gas out of the tank. and put some new in. Then, replace the fuel filter, then, clean the carb AGAIN.

You should also head up to the Adults Only sticky (first post of this forum) and download the OEM service manual for your engine and outdrive. You are going to need them.
#24 for the engine and #14 for the drive.
