Hello all,
I am having a heck of a time finding a good prop to run on my 95 Procraft 200 combo. The boat is running a 98 Mercury 175. Currently, I am running a high five prop on it but it cavitates badly on planing and requires you to slowly plane out. I have also tried a 25P Tempest prop which works okay except that max speed is only 45mph and max rpm is about 4800rpm.

I am looking for a prop that has a decent holeshot and a top speed over 50. I went to a shop today and they were able to tell that a Nitro boat of the same year and size was shipped with a 21 pitch Lazer II when matched with a Merc 175, but I'm not sure if this would translate the same way for the Pro Craft.

I would appreciate any input so I can get out on the water and feel good about how my boat is running.

I can,t answer with any real advise, but I have a 1750 procraft with a 40 HP merc 2 stroke it had an 11X12 stock prop and the boat big as it is did 4800 to 5000 rpm. I was told i should be getting 4200 to 4500 rpm I just received a 12 X 11 Pitch and I,m dying to see what the result is gonna be. It sounds like you less pitch to me. Exactly how much less thats the question. Also the outdrive or LU must be aligned to the proper level to prevent ventilation ( Cavitation) I have that problem too and driopped my jackplate as far as i could and still be able to pick up the engine on a slant. This adjustment is nessecary to stop cavitation as apposed to putting on another prop to stop it hope this helps a little
