I have a 2001 90hp mercury on a 16' RangerR61 bass boat, I have a 13"1/4x21 alum. prop on boat now. Want to buy a SS prop. What size and pitch would work best. Use boat to fish club tourn. Always 2 men and full tank of gas. turning about 5600 rpm with alum. prop and top end speed with 2 people and full tank is 45-47 mph.The hole shot is a little slow but on plane seems to do fine. The prop now is a alum.black max. I was told at the marine store that a SS 13"1/4x20 would help the hole shot and still run the same top end speed. Is this correct or just a good sales person trying to sell me the high priced prop he has for my motor?
