Hello everyone, thank you for your interest.

I need a new prop for my 1989 Cruisers Barnegat 2530. It is powered by a 1993 Mercruiser 5.7 Litre to an Alpha 1 drive. The boat is 4400 lbs, 7.5 ft beam.

The current prop is damaged pretty heavily. When it was last in the water WOT was 4000-4100. Too much pitch? There are no discernible markings on the prop, and Cruisers has not been able to inform me what prop came on the boat from the factory.

I boat in Lake Erie and the Niagara River. I do not plan on having the boat for more than 2 more years. (So I am definitely thinking Aluminium).

Please help me find the right prop.

First thing to do is read the stickies at the top of the prop page. Then remove your current prop and find out what it is. Put that information here and you will get more information in return. With out that info it is not possible to give you an educated guess as to what you need.
The damaged prop may not allow the engine to reach full rpm due to drag. The roughness on the edges may be an indicator of deformation of shape in the blade as well.
Waiting for more information from you. Hope this helps.

I am not able to remove the prop (no tools, or know-how). I will examine the prop more carefully tomorrow.

After reading the rather long post "The Black Art of Props" by hwsiii, it seems like the current prop information is not necessarily the most important info as to which prop I need. More important is hull type (deep v), weight (4400 lbs), and desire (quicker acceleration/holeshot).

At any rate, I will try to find the pitch and measure the blade tomorrow.
