1989 Cadorette Holiday 200 with Rebuilt 4.3L. Drove the boat with no issues a few times this summer. On my last trip, I went to dock it and when I attempted to put the boat in reverse, it wouldn't work. When trying to pull back on the throttle control with attempt to put it in reverse, it has a point where it just has restriction. It doesn't even go far enough back so it'll stall the motor out.
I removed the lower shift cable that goes behind and below the motor (please forgive me, I'm new to boating and not positive what the names of certain things are). When I removed the lower shift cable (red one) I have full range of control in my hand shifter/throttle. So I'm thinking my issue is in the lower cable. How hard is this to change? Seems like through my forum reading that i'll need specific tools and definitely remove the outdrive. I wish it wasn't this way...
