need help with vortec v6 spark plug wire

I recently bought a 1991 Mariah and the guy had change the block into a vortec v6. The engine runs on idle but when u put gas it spudders and rpm won't go pass 2500. From my understanding and some research is that the vortec takes longer spark plug wires than the standard Chevy. I think the guy put on standard Chevy spark plug wires. You can see the spark plug wire jammed all the way up. My question is what kind of spark plug and spark plug wires vortec v6 take?

Ayuh,.... Change yer fuel filters, She's starvin' for Gas...

Plug wires won't do that,...

Marine plug wires are just longer, usually with different ends, than automotive wires...

Done that. I'm not talking about marine plug vs auto plug. I'm talking vortex v6 vs standard Chevy. Vortec v6 takes a plug with twice the thread length as standard Chevy plug.

Then why is your thread title about spark plug WIRES? Yes, the Vortec takes different (longer) plugs.... What are you actually asking about? You seem to already know the answer to the question you're asking...

To summarize the summary of the summary..

V6 (4.3l) Mercruiser up to 1997

Spark plugs: BR6FS
Spark plug wires: (Merc number) 84-816761Q16

V6 Mercruiser 1998 and up

Spark plugs: BPR6EFS
Spark plugs wires: (Merc number) 84-816761Q16

As you can see, Merc use the same wires for both engines....

I believe those specs are for the standard Chevy. I have a 262 vortec long block on mine. I need the spark plug spark plug specs for my vortec

Ayuh,... If yer intake manifold is bolted down with 4 bolts per side, Ya got the vortec heads, which use the long plugs...

If there's 6 bolts per side, ya need the shorter plugs...
