need help with water problem on a 98 yamaha pro v 175

i just bought the boat today and i hooked the water ears to it and it is not peeing. does this have a thermostat. i am just afraid of running *** for more then a minute without it peeing because i dont want it to overheat this is my first boat and i am trying to figure out what is going on

your engine has 2 thermostats.
however even if they were stuck or missing water would still discharge from the tell tale.
even if the poppit valve were missing it would dribble.
so check the tell tale hose and restrictor for blockage, bugs like to nest in them.
you can also pull the tell tale hose off of the exhaust housing and retest.
after that pull the water pump,check the poppit valve and inspect the t-stats.
none of it lasts forever.
