Re: need help

Sorry about losing a relative.

Congrats on the boat. Can you hear Paul singing Live and Let Die every time you look at that beauty of a boat.

I keep making reference to that move because the power boating stunts were real cutting edge for their time. Your boat looks much like the style Mr. Bond used for a get away...cept his had a white V-4 not an inline black 6

What better way to remember a loved one by getting *** deep in a restoration project of such a cool family heirloom.

From what I have seen, read and about to write in this fine forum, you have found the right place to get some tips and encouragement.

Re: need help

On the back of the boat their might be a hull number stamped in to the gel coat, Normaly the last too numbers would tell you the year of the boat. Keep in mind some older boats did not have this stamped in.

Re: need help

For the record, I like Chevy, Ford, Chrysler and all USA engines
(response to the word suck and Chevy in close proximity)

But cheers mate. No hard feelings

This is a fun place,

The days of Mopar dusters, challengers and fury's vs the Mustangs and Camaos.......GTOs and Skylarks, 440, 460, 454 and all.

The days of Boston and Bruce's first album.

Re: need help

Check the transom by putting both hands on the tilted gear case and apply force up and down. Is the transom sound? any cracks?

If the transom is good, you just may have a cream puff.

I bet the original metal flake gel coat will come alive with some light compound and a little wax

Then it is a 1978 boat. I am not sure what the FBF stands for, But Normaly the first few letters is the initials of the boat brand or company name that owened or made the hull.
