Need hole shot

I have a Rinker 182 (18') runabout with a 4.3l mercruiser. WOT is 4400-4800 depending on how much fuel, people, etc. is on board. The prop is an aluminum 13.75 x 21p prop.

I'm looking for some good hole shot for pulling a skier. Top speed is not all that important to me, however it would be nice.

I want a stainless steel prop. Should I get a four blade 21p, or a three or four blade 19p?

Thanks for your help, Morty

Re: Need hole shot

Because you really don?t know a particular prop?s characteristics until you try it and retailers don?t want a returned prop that?s been installed, it?s easy to make an expensive mistake. Changing materials from aluminum to stainless only makes it more difficult to hit it right the first time. Here in Oklahoma City there is a shop, the Prop Shop, that only sells props. This business will take your information regarding current prop, RPM, target performance, etc, and loan you 4 or 5 props to try. When you?re happy with one you exchange the loaners for a the new prop of your choice. Maybe there?s a similar shop in your area. Great way to avoid an expensive mistake. If unable to try a variety of props, I'd drop to a 19P 3 blade and hope for the best. I have got a retailer to accept a returned prop once, but I had to clean it up real well.

I don't know your motors rated rpm but it would appear you are probably there now so you will have to be careful with the 19 not to over rev.
Not an expert but I would go with a stainless 19 Should help hole shot and my help top end.
